Islamists attempt to destroy Shiva Temple in Howrah, face fierce resistance from Hindu Samhati

Howrah: Communal clashes have been reported again between Hindu and Muslims in the Dhulagarh Deoanghata area in Howrah District of West Bengal, India. Local Islamists have been reported to be hiring other fellow Islamists from nearby Bankra area. They are trying to demolish one Shiva Temple nearby. Hindu Samhati,an apolitical Hindu organization is reported to be putting up severe resistance with the help of their volunteers on ground. The situation is very tensed. Police, RAF & fire Brigade have been deployed and they are working jointly to bring the situation under control. They however are facing severe constraints as the local ruling party Trinmool Congress (TMC) leader Gulshan Mullick is calling all the shots and is using the entire system against the Hindus in the region.
