Tribute to Shri Madan lal Dhingra on his birth Anniversary.
Madan lal Dhingra was born on 18th September 1883 in Amritsar. He was son of Dr Ditta lal Dhingra then civil surgeon.
He during his college days got influenced by Nationalist movements and was in support of Swadeshi movement then. His Father was against him joining such movements, thus he left college and did labour works to survive. His brother Dr Bihari Lal made him join University College London to study mechanical engineering.
After Visiting London he joined India House under Shyamji Kishanji Verma. He along with Veer Savarkar and other revolutionaries had plans for revolutions.
He then trained himself in Marksmanship and assassinated Curzon Wyllie who was a key official in British India.
Later when he was arrested on the spot and was sent to court he said he didn’t recognise the British Authority or their court.
Here Veer Savarkar and VVS Iyer praised his bravery. While his action got criticized by certain sections of Indian society.
Finally he was sent to Gallows on 17 August 1909.His family disowned him. His mortal remains were bought back to India in 1976 and was given with proper rites.
