Indian Integration of Hyderabad.

A Tribute to the resilient people, leaders, Statesman and the brave warriors of Indian Armed Forces.

Hyderabad was part of many great dynasties and became a major city under Kakatiya Rule by building Golkonda Fort under their rule.

After Invasion by Khilji and Thuglaq the city became part of Bahmani Sultanate. Later when Bahmani Sultanate got divided it became Golkonda Sultanate of Qutb Shahi Dynasty.

Later with the Invasion of Aurangzeb the Golkonda fell and Nizams were established by Aurangzeb to rule the territory which encompasses the part of former Bahmani provinces and certain old Vijayanagara territories.

Nizams were always on fight with Hindavi Swarajya aka Maratha Empire and mostly paid chauth till Battle of Kharda in 1795.

Later when British came with a subsidiary alliance Nizam accepted it and was part of British Paramountcy.

Thus began a princely era of Hyderabad where the development and at the same time the zeal of religion both grow side by side.

The religious zeal of islamics grown as such that evenu singing Vandemataram was not accepted and looked with a disdain.

Here many individuals like Swami Ramananda Teertha of Hyderabad State Congress along with Hindu Mahasabha and Arya Samaj wanted Hyderabad to integrate with India.

Muslims the hardcore Islamists formed MIM and Razakar under Qazim Rizwi a Paramilitary organisation that’s work in paper was to support Nizam’s rule but in reality they’re performing atrocities on common citizens.

Telangana rebellion was a communist insurgency in villages though a short term relief for villagers still their movement had its own setbacks. The targetted killing and other issues.

In 1947 Shri K M Munshi ji was Posted as Agent General of Hyderabad where he noted the issues and sent regular updates to Delhi. During the standstill Agreement Indian Army itself wasn’t stationed in Secunderabad. Also Nizam was trying to procure weapons.

The crisis of Hindus were so unbearable that they began to leave Hyderabad to Indian states.

In the meantime Hyderabad State MEA Moin Nawaz Jung filed complaint in UNO while Indian position was well defended by Arcot Ramaswamy Mudaliar former Diwan of Mysore and one of the finest lawyer.

The first point of crisis started at Skirmish at Kodad on September 6 1948 where Poona Horse regiment defeated Hyderabad Lancers. Thus signalling beginning of conflict and start of Operation Polo the police action.

The plan was such Indian army to be led by then Lt General Maharaja Rajendrasinhji Jadeja. While in field under the command of Major General Jayanto Nath Chaudhary and Major General A A Rudra.

Thus the battle began on September 13th 1948 the swift the movement of Indian army that stunned the Hyderabad State forces and Razakars. Thus on 17th evening Hyderabad Nizam asked for resignation of his ministry Summoned Shri K M Munshi ji here Shri K M Munshi ji adviced for integration. He visited radio station and declared end of hostilities.

Thus on 18th September 1948 Major General El Edroos of Hyderabad State forces Surrendered to Indian Army under the Command of General then Major General Jayanto Nath Chaudhary.

Thus on the day of integration let’s remember the sacrifice of all those great souls.
