Assertiveness of a nation and its resources. Every Nation to be sovereign, needs the resources for the sustainability of their own people.
The resources are basics from food, clothing and Shelter the primary ones to that of secondary ones to satisfy them like proper roads basic facilities and security for the people.
Now comes the point whether security is necessary or basics. The stronger the Gupta Empire the greater the Nation’s development and its golden era. Thus strength and survivability are interdependent on each other not different from each.
Thus when the nation spends on technologies people shouldn’t criticize by saying there are people in Need and Science should also understand the necessity of others. Here both must work in Tandem.
Individuals need the thought of focusing on larger good. During 1998 Operation Shakti India tested nuclear weapons for the safety of the Nation. In that same year due to monsoon failure and economic sanctions there was a price rise on Onion. In the meantime people vented their anger on government in state election and parliamentary by elections where the ruling coalition lost the majority.
Thus it’s always about both understanding and knowledge of the resources that matters. Why?? If India had become Nuclear power by the 1950s or early 1960s obviously we wouldn’t be facing NTBT or later CTBT related sanctions. It would have averted or reduced the magnitude of Wars we faced. Point being people’s failure to tap into alternate resources during the time of crisis the helplessness became anger.
If Individuals understand the resources better there wouldn’t be ruckus or trouble. Thus making the citizens aware of resources and conservation measures and bringing them to larger cause of understanding is necessity for the nation.
