Amul and Mondragon combo for India.Amul is the cooperative and one of the largest FMCG brands within GCMMF. Amul has three tier management which has village milk producers, District level societies and followed by state level ones.
They perform their roles accordingly and they hire talents to market their products and enhance their production and services. This is one sector the Dairy and it’s with revenue of 90000 crore.
Thus Amul helps in the life of Dairy Farmers.
Now in India we have universities that roughly produces around 80 lakhs graduates to 1.5 crore per year from all streams of degree from Arts and science to that of Engineering and Medicine.
Now it’s said that roughly 20% of them are employable while others are either unemployed or under employed. Most try for Civil Services also known as UPSC,PCS of different states and other exams which are of government or PSUs.
The Main reason why people want the job in PSUs because one reason was it’s exposure another reason was its perks and also the job security. Thus to make the skilled people get trained and to give them psychological safety we need an organisation like AMUL.
Thus the Mondragon the model which was started in 1940s expanded to varied sector and today one of the largest employer in Basque County at Spain and also in the nation of Spain.
Here during recession of 2008 the organisation had voluntary salary reduction to support the fellow workers and the individuals with Transferable skills were transferred to different units within the organisation.
Thus such a model where the workers who are owners too making them more responsible and a market oriented approach brings the safety and security for the individuals. Thus reducing the dependency on government jobs also bringing skills and perpetual learning to those who are employed.
Now it’s necessary to teach about Mondragon for the future generations.
