Tribute to Historical small industrial clusters in India.
In India we had more Industrial clusters before the arrival of British.
The cities had weavers with kings establishing weavers and certain cities like Varanasi,Madurai and many traditional cities have their own textile manufacturing units.
The cities that had resources like Metals where many Zinc related industries like metal works and idol making around Udaipur was prominent.
One of the oldest such establishment was Chakravarthy Harshavardhana’s establishment of Perfume industry in Kannauj in 7th Century CE. Thus becoming part of Indian economy even today.
Chola era they established Swamimalai for metal working and idol making based on lost wax casting that place makes idols of deities even today.
Hemachandra Vikramaditya established canon foundries in Rewari after his demise in war the skill was invaluable that they became utility as Rewari Metal works even today.
Thus let’s remember the visionary rulers of India who established these timeless industrial areas which serves as an example Even today.
