Veer Savarkar and K M Munshi.
Two patriots and cultural nationalism
Veer Savarkar ji and KM Munshi ji both had brief conversation and found inspiration from many historical heroes at the same time from Lokamanya Tilak ji and Shri Aurobindo respectively.
Here both are in favour of social reform within the Hindu framework. Here both are in favour of strong Hindu institution and responsible governance. Where Veer Savarkar ji wanted radical action KM Munshi ji wanted them through scriptural understanding.
Here both participated in Akhand Hindustan movement against Partition. Here Veer Savarkar wasn’t in favour of Quit India movement. While K M Munshi ji understanding the gravity of the situation of Muslim league demand of Pakistan he left Congress in 1941.
Veer Savarkar ji focused on building National character and consciousness through political actions. While K M Munshi ji was focusing on building National Character and Consciousness through building Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and initiating construction of Somnath temple under leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Thus both are two sides of Cultural nationalism in their own way.
