Six School of thought in Vedic thoughts and their impact.
Samkhya the thought explains about the dualist nature of the Indian Philosophy with 3 major epistemology Pratyaksha(perception), Anumana(inference) and Sabda(words and testimony). The rationalist school with Maharishi Kapila the major proponent.
Yoga The school of thought that follows in line with Samkhya and deviate in minor level with emphasis on Yama and Niyama for a great living and for moksha. Major proponent being Rishi Patanjali.
Nyaya the school of realism with Akashapada Gautama ‘s Nyaya Sutra Philosophy being a major text about it. It’s epistemology have Pratyaksha,Anumana,Upamana and Sabdha.
Vyasheshika the major work being Vyasheshika Darshana by Kanada Kashyapa. It’s epistemology have Pratyaksha and Anumana. It also postulates the atomism.
Mimamsa the philosophy that holds vedic authority Major works by Jaimini on Mimamsa Sutra. It’s epistemology included Pratyaksha,Anumana, Upamana,Arthapatti and Shabda while Kurmila Bhatta version has Abhava thought process.
Vedanta The school of thought that explains the Vedic philosophy and it’s major work was by various Rishis and Acharyas. The major epistemological thought being Pratyaksha,Anumana, Upamana,Arthapatti, Shabda and Anupalabdi.
Thus Rich schools of thoughts with many epistemological application was there for understanding of basics.
It’s necessary to understand the questioning and evolution of our philosophy and debate we had for larger good of society. Every poetic work of ancient till early modern India carry these thoughts.
